    The successful applicant will be responsible to the VMU Manager for the day to day management of the VMU workshop, ensuring that all inspection, repair and servicing of the vehicle fleet is completed in a safe, timely and cost efficient manner.

    They will be indirectly responsible for meeting KPI targets on fleet availability ensuring that all planned maintenance schedules are met. They will be directly responsible for the control of Health & Safety within the VMU ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures are fully adhered to.

    * City & Guilds Level 2 Advanced Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Groups A2 & B2 preferable but not mandatory).
    * Ability to work conscientiously whether alone or within a team.
    * Ability to show initiative and be proactive in resolving problems encountered.
    * Good written and verbal communication skills.

    Meet the needs of customers both internally and externally by providing safe, timely and efficient vehicle maintenance support to the company in line with current and future policy and legislative requirements

    Desired
    * 2 years experience of working within a commercial vehicles maintenance environment.
    * City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Groups A2 & B2 preferable but not mandatory).
    * C+E License Holder.

    Overview:
    * Compliance with all Health & Safety at Work (NI) Order ensuring your own and others personal safety.

    * Ensuring that all personnel fully comply with the site safety policy and all legal & statutory requirements (LOLER, PUWER etc) by controlling and maintaining VMU safety procedures.

    * Controlling and auditing all VMU contractors working on site, ensuring that they are fully aware of all potential hazards and fully compliant with the contractors Health & Safety policy.

    * Ensuring that all substances which may pose a threat to environmental safety are properly controlled and disposed off in line with company and legislative environmental policy.

    * Ensuring that all VMU personnel inspect, repair and service all fleet vehicles in line with manufacturers' guidelines and company policy. All work is to be inspected to the standards laid down in the Heavy Goods Vehicle Inspection Manual and the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that regular, recorded quality inspections are carried out on completed work.

    * Ensuring that all VMU paperwork is fully completed with all detail recorded correctly and accurately.

    * Maintaining optimum stock levels within the VMU store ensuring that vehicle spares usage is reviewed regularly and that proactive action is taken to identify new stock requirements and under utilized stock, thus ensuring vehicle downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.

    Salary: £26k per annum

    Shift work - 1 week early / 1week lates

    6am- 2.30pm
    2pm - 11pm
